Box of Tricks

Box of Tricks grew from a drawing by Mark O'Connell in early 2001. From that drawing a storyline was developed. The cartoon was in pre-production from March-October the same year. During that time, the script was writen, the main scenes were storyboarded, and an animatic was created. I then set upon finding the voices to bring life to my characters. A drama college proved the ideal place to audition people. I soon cast all of the roles. Once everyone had recorded their vocal parts, I plotted out the whole cartoon on X-Sheets (Dope Sheets).

As the film is still in production, the plot is being kept under wraps for now. I can reveal that the kid's name is Daniel, and he is the film's main star.
The running time for the film is 3 minutes long. It was made using 2-D traditional animation with Macromedia Flash.
